Kathmandu, December 14 : The government has written off the loan the small farmers had taken from the then Sajha Cooperatives.
The interest incurred from the loan has accumulated to more than one billion rupees at the Agriculture Development Bank. With the government decision to write off the loan, more than 650 families would be benefitted. Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Gokul Baskota shared it at a weekly press brief on Thursday.
The Council of Ministers recently decided to provide the consent in principle that the programmes of the Rural Self-Entrepreneurship Fund be launched through the small farmers micro finances.
The government has also decided to issue the notice for public to not use Indian currency notes of 200, 500 and 2000 denominations because India had banned it.
Rs 200 thousand will be provided to Gitadevi, the wife of Pramod Saha, one killed by unknown gang in Siraha in Kattik 2066 BS. The Cabinet meeting also decided to provide consent for the appointment of temporary staffs to complete the federal works relating to drinking water.
