Kathmandu, January 2 : Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Chakrapani Khanal has directed the subordinate bodies to prepare and submit a report by identifying the problems emerged on ‘super zone programme’ launched under the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project and mentioning the measures to solve the problems.
In the wake of the complaints that the ‘super zone’ was not executed up to the mark, the Minister brought together all chiefs of 14 super zone chiefs at his office and directed them to submit a report on the problems and the measures to tackle them.
As the Minister directed, the super zone programme chiefs could study the present status, geographical background and other issues concerned, said the Minister’s secretariat.
The chiefs of the super zones briefed the Minister that employee management, high demand, budget crunch, lack of experience were some reasons behind the super zone implementation slow off the mark.
At the meeting, Joint Secretary at the Ministry and Planning Division Chief Dr Yogendra Kumar Karki informed that the super zones working satisfactorily would however be provided adequate budget.
Under the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project which has been running for three years had made 14 super zones and 69 zones for modern agriculture. RSS
