There has been a significant increase in the export of Nepali goods to India and third countries using the country’s main trade gateway, Birgunj Customs.
Compared to the first four months of the last fiscal year, the export of Nepali goods using the checkpoint has more than doubled in the same period of the current fiscal year.
During the four months from July to October of the current Fiscal Year, various goods worth Rs. 39.56 billion have been exported compared to Rs. 12.44 billion during the review period last year.
Sumit Gupta, information officer at the office, said that the export of Nepali goods to India and third countries has increased due to the ease of industry and trade as the transmission of the corona has been declining globally.
He said that most of the exports of Nepali goods from Nepal to India and third countries are refined soybean oil, refined palm oil, fruit juice, refined sunflower oil, soybean drink, herbs, and other commodities. Along with the increase in exports of Nepali goods, its effect has also been seen in revenue collection.
Compared to the first four months of the last fiscal year, the office has managed to collect more than Rs. 26 billion in the corresponding period of the current fiscal year.
In the first four months of the last fiscal year, the office collected revenue of Rs. 43.67 billion. In the current Fiscal Year, 70.12 billion 14 million revenue has been collected.
