On Wednesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) bounced back with an increase of 49.18 points, recovering after a drop of over 100 points in the previous two days. The market opened at 2,470.39 points and dipped to a low of 2,443.98 points within the first half hour but rallied throughout the trading session to close at 2,519.57 points.
The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of ‘A’ class companies, rose by 7.91 points. However, daily turnover declined to Rs 4.81 billion, down from Rs 5.68 billion on Tuesday.
Among the listed companies, 223 gained while 18 experienced losses. All sectors except mutual funds saw gains, with the life insurance sector leading the charge by adding 231.41 points. Notably, five sectors recorded three-digit gains.
Ngadi Group Power Ltd had the highest turnover for the day, with shares worth Rs 156.41 million traded. Other significant gainers included Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd, Nyadi Hydropower Limited, Unique Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Sagarmatha Jalabidyut Company Limited, and Three Star Hydropower Limited. On the downside, Himalayan Hydropower Limited saw the largest loss, with a decline of 6.36 percent in its market value.
