Kathmandu, July 20-The number of Nepalis obtaining permits for foreign employment has fallen by around 20 percent in the last fiscal year 2017/18, according to the Department of Foreign Employment.
In the said fiscal, 612,685 persons obtained labour permits for foreign jobs stood at 612,685, while the number of such persons had stood at 759,230 in the previous year. These numbers also include those applying for and obtaining re-entry permissions.
Symptoms of political stability in the country, economic crisis in the Arab nations and increasing fraudulent activities in the foreign employment sector are attributed to the fall in the number of Nepali migrant workers obtaing labour permits.
