The government has released Rs 1 billion to provide relief to the farmers who incurred loss and damage in paddy plantations due to unseasonal rainfall.
The Home Minister said the government has decided to compensate for the loss in keeping with the criteria and process determined by the District Disaster Management Committee.
A meeting presided over by Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey attended by the Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development decided to provide amount only to the farmers who faced loss and damage in their crops.
The relief amount is to be provided to the indigent farmers as per the guideline, 2078 to that effect.
