Remittance inflow has decreased in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
According to details released by the Nepal Rastra Bank on Wednesday, the inflow of remittance has decreased by 5.5 percent during the first six months of the current fiscal year and is limited to Rs 468.45 billion.
It had increased by 11.1 percent during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The remittance inflow in the US dollar has declined by 6.2 percent and reached Rs 393 billion.
It had increased by 6.7 percent during the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, the number of Nepalis acquiring work permits for foreign employment during the period has increased notably and reached 167,513.
It had declined by 89 percent during the same period of the previous fiscal year. Similarly, the number of Nepalis acquiring rework permits for foreign employment has increased by 298.1 percent and reached 130,212 during the review period while it had decreased by 75.5 percent during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
According to the NRB, gross transfer has decreased by 4.9 percent and reached Rs 523 billion during the review period. It had increased by 8.9 percent during the correspondent period of the previous fiscal year.
