Kathmandu, November 25: The trade deficit of the country has declined by 12.49 percent to stand at Rs 3.62 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal year, according to the Department of Customs. Such a decline could be attributed to a fall in imports and a rise in exports.
During the review period, the foreign goods worth amounting to Rs 402 billion have been imported according to the department. This is a decrease by 10.62 percent in comparison to the corresponding period last year.
Similarly, during the first four months of 2020/21, the country exported the goods amounting to Rs 40.2 billion. The figure is 10.81 percent more compared to the corresponding period last year.
