Ranjha, October 14: A total of 359 new industries have been registered in the Banke district after one month of the Lumbini State Government deciding to provide an exemption in registration fees for industries.
The decision is aimed at cushioning the impacts of COVID-19 on the small and cottage industries in the State. After the implementation of it to exempt registration fees for the new industries on September 8, new industries are impressively sprouting in the district, said Jayaram Tharu, Chief of Office of Small and Cottage Industry, Banke.
The small and cottage industries with fixed capital up to Rs 500,000 are to be registered at the local level while those industries with fixed capital above Rs 500,000 are to be registered at the Office of Small and Cottage Industry in each district, according to Tharu.
Earlier, the registration charge for industries with fixed capital up to Rs 20,00,000 was Rs 5,000 while the industries having capital above Rs 20,00,000 to up to Rs 50,00,000 had to pay Rs 15,000 as the registration fee. Likewise, industries having capital above Rs 50,00,000 ought to pay Rs 25,000 as a registration fee.
The waiver in the registration charge has enthused the would-be entrepreneurs venturing out into their small business. The new entrepreneurs also avail counselling from the Office of Small and Cottage Industry in Banke for free of cost. RSS
