In the first four months of the fiscal year 2024/2025, Nepal has seen exports totaling Rs 52.67 billion. Among the 27 customs offices in the country, the Birgunj Customs Office has stood out, with exports worth Rs 12.12 billion, making it the leading office. This significant performance is attributed to the integrated check post and dry port at Birgunj, which have facilitated a higher volume of exports compared to other regions.
Notable exports from Birgunj include synthetic yarn, soybean oil, mustard cake, and woolen carpets. Additionally, the dry port itself contributed Rs 1.51 billion in exports.
In comparison, the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Customs Office reported exports worth Rs 12.35 billion during the same period, showcasing another major hub for Nepal’s international trade.
