The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has stressed the need for continuous study and research on the scope of revenue expansion rather than creating additional burden only on the registered taxpayers.
The FNCCI suggests that the Revenue Investigation Department should provide special assistance in this regard to expand the scope of revenue. This was emphasized in the discussion program held between the officials of the federation and the director-general of the revenue investigation department at the federation secretariat today.
FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha, Director General of Revenue Research Department Prakash Poudel, FNCCI Senior Vice President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Vice Presidents Dinesh Shrestha, Anjan Shrestha, Ram Chandra Sanghai, Treasurer Sukuntalal Hirachan and Committee Chairpersons were present on the occasion.
It was suggested that the Revenue Investigation Department should work to bring the unregistered financial traders and illegal importers under the purview of the revenue.
The FNCCI also suggested that the government should solve the problem of mismatches after joining the VCTS system, make arrangements for non-imposition of VCTS while supplying goods within the same district, and implement VCTS according to the phase.
Suggestions from the federation that raids should be carried out only after disclosing the reasons for the raids, not to make public the findings of the investigation, to make arrangements for giving inheritance by the industrialists at the time of raids, to create a conducive environment to operate within 24 hours of sealing the business premises. Was kept.
Addressing the suggestions given by the federation, Director-General Poudel informed that the Revenue Investigation Department is working in a way that does not cause unnecessary grief to the taxpayers and does not lead to duplication.
He also requested a discussion program in all the states on the provisions of VCTS and revenue research and for partnership with the federation. He also assured to work in coordination with all the revenue-related bodies.
