Kathmandu, September 30 : The Nepal-China northern border point, Tatopani, which was obstructed due to the landslide, is resuming its operations from October 5. According to the chief district officer, Umesh Kumar Dhakal, a bilateral meeting between the officials from both countries held at Miteripul yesterday made a decision in this regard.
With the obstruction of the border point, the Nepali market is facing the acute shortage of goods imported from China on the eve of Dashain festival.
CDO Dhakal along with custom office chief and security officials had participated in the meeting from the Nepali side. It agreed to unload the goods coming from China at Lipingpul and the Nepali vehicles will load the goods from there to Nepal. A 28- member workers team is ready in the border point to receive the goods after conducting the PCR test for COVID-19.
The PCR test of workers and drivers would be conducted in every five days considering the possible threat of the disease. T. RSS
